How to Use Worked Examples
A worked example is not there to be read. It is there to be followed once, then done without.
In short
Read it once for the shape
What the first step is, what the last one is, and roughly how long it runs.
Go through it line by line
Ask what changed between each line, and why it was allowed to change.
Cover it and do it yourself
This is the part that teaches. Everything before it is preparation.
Compare, do not just tick
Where your working differs from theirs, work out which is right and why.
Do a second question with nothing in sight
Same method, different numbers, book closed.
Write the method in your own words
If you can write the steps down, you have it.
